Academic, industry, and government professionals worldwide recognize EcoBalance as a premier biennial conference with life cycle thinking at its core. This is a key platform for discussions on environmental performance evaluation, information disclosure regarding evaluation results, and for the development and implementation of discussed methods.
EcoBalance organizes four featured sessions and six topic groups over its three days of activity, all returning to the central theme, ‘Life Cycle Thinking—Beyond Carbon.’ Here, professionals are enabled to deep dive into the specific issues that inspire them the most.
Our Database Content Lead, Avraam Syemondis will present the paper “Municipal Solid Waste Regionalization: case study in Europe”, which was co-authored by ecoinvent’s Project Manager, Nikolia Stoikou, and our Chief Technical Officer, Emilia Moreno-Ruiz.
This study supports the need to assess the environmental impact of the planet’s increasing municipal solid waste. It presents a case for Europe and the methodology employed to create regionalized transparent life cycle inventory (LCI) for a total of thirty-one countries in Europe.
