Our projects

We are dedicated to promoting good practices in life cycle inventory data and database management.
Research is an essential part of our work

Our research projects are a critical aspect of our mission to promote and support the availability of environmental data for life cycle-based environmental assessments worldwide.

These projects help us advance and improve our database by collecting and analyzing new data and updating existing data. This ensures that the database remains up-to-date and relevant, providing users with accurate and reliable information to support their environmental assessments.

Through collaborations with other organizations, such as universities and research institutions, we share knowledge and expertise and develop new methodologies and tools for environmental assessment. This allows us to promote good practices in life cycle inventory data and database management and to advance the field of life cycle assessment.

We contribute to the scientific body of work in the field of environmental assessment by publishing and contributing to publications related to background data or the ecoinvent database.

Our work spans a range of sectors and includes policymakers, industry and private enterprises, NGOs, academia, and research institutions.

ORIENTINGEU

The OrientingEU Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment project methodology integrates environmental, social, and economic impacts to provide valuable insights and opportunities for industry.

The methodology has been applied to case studies at five European companies— BASF, Leiblein GmbH, Solana s.p.a., Stora Enso, and Ternua Group— and the results obtained are a significant milestone towards creating a methodology that is applicable to business practices for companies, public authorities, academia, and consultants.
